Air Cadets have the amazing opportunity to be able to obtain their Glider Pilot License and Private Pilot License through the program. Interested cadets must compete for a scholarship given by the Air Cadet League of Canada, there are only a limited number of scholarships therefore cadets must work hard to earn them.
75 Squadron’s Ground School program is mandatory for any cadet who wishes to apply for the 2019 Glider and Power Pilot Scholarships and it is aimed at helping the cadets as much as possible to achieve their scholarship. In order to compete for the glider and power scholarships, cadets will write an entrance exam on theory related to aviation as well as undergo an interview in early February. Through Ground School, the cadets will learn the necessary theory in order to write the exam and they will go through practice interviews and interview techniques.
Evaluations will occur throughout the program in order to give feedback to the cadets as well as to determine how competitive the cadets will be for the scholarship. There are only a limited number of cadets each squadron can send to the National Exams and Interviews therefore the selection will be highly competitive. Attendance, academic results of the program, as well past cadet experience will all be taken into consideration.
Consistent attendance and an inquiring mind are needed to be successful.
This year the Ground School Program will be starting on the Sept 18th, 2018.
Pre-Requisites for the Scholarships are as follows:
