Message from Maj Alle:
I had planned to announce this on Thursday, but since word has been spreading quickly, I wanted to be sure to make cadets and parents aware of a change that is coming to 75 Barrhaven Squadron at the end of this training year.
It is with mixed emotion that I announce that our Annual Ceremonial Review will also consist of a change of command as I will be stepping down as Commanding Officer (CO) of 75 Squadron. Although a year sooner than I originally intended, this is good news for the Squadron. Capt McAuley is the nominee for appointment to the position of CO, effective June 2019. Capt McAuley brings with him a a wealth of experience, most notably as the previous CO of 632 Squadron in Orleans, a position that he held for four successful years.
I will still be involved in the Cadet program however I have been appointed to the role of Area Elemental Advisor within the Montreal Sector. What does that mean? My role will be to work alongside this and other cadet units to continue to offer an exceptional program to cadets within the Ottawa area.
75 Squadron has come a long way from where it was when it was established in 2017. There are still a number of areas in which we can improve, but there are far more successes that we can point to. It is a squadron that has truly put in to practice our motto of "Stronger Together than Apart". I am very proud of what the Squadron has been able to achieve in such a small amount of time and I am looking forward to see what the future has in store for it.
For now, business as usual. We have a number of fun, educational and exciting activities ahead, so please be sure to sign-up!
