To join 75 Barrhaven Air Cadets, you must:
- want to join cadets and have an open mind to the possibilities of the program;
- have already had your 12th birthday, and not yet had your 19th birthday;
- be a legal resident of Canada;
- have the permission of your parent(s) or guardian(s);
- provide proof of provincial health insurance coverage or equivalent;
- be in good physical condition;
- not belong to another corps or squadron (this would be a transfer); and,
- be acceptable to the Commanding Officer (CO) of the cadet corps or squadron.

Based on statistics on the prevailing use of French and English as primary languages, 75 Squadron is designated as an English unit. However, given the exceptional growth and size of the squadron, every reasonable effort has been made to accomodate both official languages. For example, every service department, Training, Supply, and Administration have assigned bilingual volunteers available to respond in either languages. While training is only delivered in English, cadets are encouraged to express themselves in the language of their choice, are able to request to be assessed in either languages, and may request tutoring in French.
Après une analyse des statistiques au sujet de l’utilisation prédominante du français et de l’anglais comme langue première, l’escadron 75 a été désigné comme unité anglaise. Cependant, compte tenu de la croissance et de la taille exceptionnelle de l’escadron, toutes les efforts raisonnables ont été déployés pour accomoder les deux langues officielles. Par example, chaque département (Entraînement, Approvissionnement et Administration) ont des volontaires désignés bilingues qui sont disponsibles pour répondre aux demandes dans les deux langues officielles. Bien que l’instruction est livrée en anglais seulement, les cadets sont encouragés à s’exprimer dans la langue de leur choix, peurvent demander à être évalués dans la langue de leur choix et peuvent demander un tutorat en français.
